Fred Aris

Born in England, 1932

Fred Aris is a British born artist and a member for the idiosyncratic school of painting, with a style both naive and whimsical. Born in 1932, little is known about his background. He is rumored to live close to London and to have a day job working in a roadside cafe, which may account for his love of cats often seen in his paintings. As an artist he is not prolific possibly as his work is meticulous in detail, most frequently using the medium of ?oil? On board. Famously he was commissioned to paint a portrait of Sir Winston Churchill.
